Erich Wolf

"I am Erich Wolf, born on July 30th, 1961 in Elbigenalp / Tyrol. In the 1980s, during several stays as a volunteer at Kibbutz Givat Brenner in Israel, I was able to make some contacts with survivors of the Shoah. Through their dramatic life stories, I also delved into the escape stories before and after the founding of the State of Israel.

My Testimonial for Tree 49

Working on the "Bricha" organization, I "stumbled" one day over an article on the first APC in the newspaper "Der Standard". As a regular participant in the APC, I am always impressed by the diverse view of the flight theme. I see the "Grove of Flight" as an important reminder of the past, a permanent reminder of today's "coming and going", but also as a living sign of hope for continuous awareness of a better future! PS: I’m wearing a T-shirt that was produced (10 years ago) on the occasion of the 80th birthday of the Kibbutz Givat Brenner. I had the opportunity to work in this kibbutz for a few months, which was founded on June 29, 1928 by Eastern European Jews and which was a home to many Jews from Germany and Austria, later.
