Andrea Eckert

Andrea Eckert is a freelance actress and filmmaker. She lives in Vienna and Berlin. Since 2016 she has been director of the Raimundspiele Gutenstein. She plays in numerous film and television productions and performs with her music programs throughout the German-speaking world, in Israel and America. In her filmic work, she likes to deal with socially engaged civil society figures such as the Viennese emigrant Eric Pleskow, who became one of the most powerful film tycoons in Hollywood or the Jesuit priest Georg Sporschill. Eckert was twice nominated for the Nestroypreis and received numerous theater awards such as the Kainz Medal, the Hebbel Ring, the Karl Skraup Prize, the Dorothea Neff Prize and the Hersfeld Prize. In 2010 she received the title of chamber actress. In May 2016, chamber actress Andrea Eckert was awarded the Golden Medal for services to the State of Vienna. In March 2017, she was awarded the Golden Medal of the State of Lower Austria.
