Rainer Schönfelder

Rainer Schönfelder (born June 13, 1977 in Wolfsberg) is a former Austrian ski racer. He specialized primarily in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom, but also started more often in combinations as well as downhill and super-G during his career. Schönfelder was one of the world's best slalom runners for several years, won five World Cup slaloms and in the season 2003/04 the slalom World Cup. In addition, he won four medals at World Championships and Olympic Games and was twice Junior World Champion and Austrian Champion. From 2008 to 2010 his career was interrupted several times by injuries. In addition to his work as an athlete, he also appeared as a singer.
