David Zwilling

David Zwilling (born August 24, 1949 in Abtenau, Salzburg) is a former ski racer. He started from 1969 to 1975 in the Ski World Cup, won two giant slalom and finished in 1973 second place in the overall World Cup. His greatest successes were celebrated at the 1974 World Cup. Zwilling was world champion in the downhill category and won the silver medal in slalom. Since the end of his active sports career, he has been the founder and director of several companies. Together with Johannes Aschauer and Otto Klär, David Zwilling traveled on foot from Arbing to Jerusalem in 2010 on a 4500 km long pilgrimage. He co-founded the Jerusalem Way. With the artist Gudrun Kargl von Göss, in 2011 he initiated the "Star of Love" in the Großgmainer Marienheilgarten as a project for world peace. In 1999 he was awarded the Golden Medal for Services to the Republic of Austria.
