Cecily Corty

Cecily Corti is known for her commitment to the homeless in Vienna. She is chairwoman of the association "Vinzenzgemeinschaft St. Stephan". which was founded in 2003. She is the founder and she was (until July 2018) head of the now seven VinziRast facilities for homeless, alcoholic and refugee people. The association finances itself exclusively by private donations and is carried above all by honorary co-workers. Cecily Corti has been honored with numerous awards for her commitment: 2006 with the Viktor Frankl Award, 2008 with the Knights Cross (Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur) of the Legion of Honor and a Leopold Kunschak Recognition Award and 2010 with the Golden Merit Award for services to the Republic of Austria. In 2013, Corti was awarded the Bruno Kreisky Prize for Services to Human Rights.
