The merits of the couple Donatella Magliani and Manfred Schwab cannot be overstated. For many years, they have served on APC's Board of Directors and have attended several of our Krimml events, including the 2-day APC Peace Hike. In 2014, Manfred re-launched the APC homepage and - always with highly valued analyzes - helped to shape our strategic direction.
When it came to rebuilding an earthquake-damaged elementary school in Nepal, Donatella made it possible to successfully complete its renebuilding in 2016. Previously, she has been involved with much personal commitment that APC has been able to implement a large relief program in Syria; she was in constant contact with the women's center in Amude, through which we were able to handle our direct help for internally displaced persons, locally. In 2017, when we organized an APC presentation in Tel Aviv to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Krimml Exodus in 1947, together with the Austrian Embassy, she hosted this event, which was especially prized by numerous contemporary witnesses and their descendants.
So if I act as one of the founders of their tree # 27, then I do so with great joy and gratitude, especially for our beautiful friendship.
