Karl Kogler

Born in 1947 in Ebersberg near Neulengbach / Lower Austria. He studied violin at the music schools of the city of Vienna. 1972 engagement in the orchestra of the Theater an der Wien, from 1978 on at the Volksoper in Vienna. Member of the Ensemble Corso Wien, the Vienna Opera Ballorchester and the Vienna Strauss-Capelle, composing and arranging. Numerous concert tours with the aforementioned orchestras and many recordings as an orchestral musician or as the founder and director of the Schrammelquartette "Schrammeln aus dem Wienerwald". Lectures and articles mainly about "light music" of the 19th and 20th century (see Austrian music lexicon and book "The Situation of Musicians in Austria"). In recent years, (together with Elfriede Hallam) he revised the music archive of the Meran Kurorchester, which can now be viewed online via the website of the "Meran "Kurverwaltung.
