Erwin Steinhauer

Steinhauer initially studied German and history, but decided for the cabaret in 1974. With friends he founded the cabaret Keif. 1977/78 Steinhauer played at the Vienna cabaret Simpl, 1979 at the Dusseldorf Kom (m) ödchen, 1980 at the Theater of Courage in Vienna. Together with Heinz Marecek he had great success with the double conferences of Karl Farkas and Fritz Grünbaum. Steinhauer played in numerous film and television productions. From 2000 to 2003, he played the gendarme Simon Polt in Julian Pölslers films of the Polt crime series by Alfred Komarek. Erwin Steinhauer has been awarded numerous prizes and honors, both for his comedic and acting performance (Salzburg Bull / Nestroy Ring / chamber actor), as well as for his socio-political commitment (including Golden Medal of the States of Lower Austria and Vienna.
