Testimonial von Ernst Löschner für Baum 29

Tree # 29 in the Grove of Flight is dedicated to Guy Shachar whose contributions to APC stand out in many ways second to no-one else. He has used his talents as filmmaker and writer to tell the "APC Story" to thousands of people, not only in Israel but all over the world. His videos can be seen on youtube and on our APC homepage. They have been shared very widely so that Guy is to be credited for spreading the commemoration of the Jewish Krimml Exodus 1947 by the annual APC Peace Hike and the Krimml Peace Dialogue. As a result new survivors - hitherto unknown to APC - from the camp Givat Avoda in Saalfelden, Austria, and their descendants stepped forward, joining many others with their families (often 3 generations) to retrace the steps of their parents and relatives over 70 years ago. About 160 Israelis (most of them in trees # 36 and 37, but also in a dozen individual trees) are now being recognized and honored in the Grove of Flight, also thanks to the efforts of Guy Shachar.
He has participated many times in our Krimml events, producing thousands of meters of film footage for his magnificent videos.
In October 2017, when the Grove of Flight was inaugurated in an inter-religious ceremony in the Krimml valley, Guy produced a moving masterpiece, capturing also the emotions of the ceremony in his video (download). He was furthermore one of the hosts, guides and organizers of our APC trip to Israel in November 2017 when we gave two presentations in remembrance of the 1947 Exodus. Most recently he produced a video in Hebrew with English subtitles with the most beautiful APC scenes over the years.
We have become close friends, so let me thank you very sincerely for all you have added to APC, Guy, and for your friendship. I am very happy to be a sponsor of "your" tree in the Grove.
