Alois Steger
Alois Steger, born 1956 in Bruneck, lives and works in Luttach. Participation in numerous exhibitions, international, multicultural symposia and land art projects, among others at the mine in Prettau, in Daechon-Lake (South Korea), in the archeology museum Bolzano, cemetery Luttach (art on construction project). For the 50th anniversary of the escape of Jews in 1947, he was co-organizer and art director of the project "passing over" in the Ahrntal / South Tyrol. His installation consisted in 50 shoes on poles. He dedicated it to all refugees worldwide. Since then he accompanies the annual APC Peace Hike barefoot as a symbol of his solidarity. His welcome message at the summit of the Krimmler Tauern is always a highlight of the hike.
