Tova Zehavi

Tova Zehavi from Rehovot near Tel Aviv dared to flee with her mother as a child. "We packed our backpacks and were taken on trucks to Krimml in the afternoon. We were not nearly as well equipped as we are today with sportswear and hiking boots. We were weakened and malnourished. Fear has motivated us to leave. I still remember the landlady from the Tauernhaus, the grandmother of the present landlord. She was waiting for us with a big pot of hot soup. No one was really happy at the top of the pass - we were just scared, did not know what to expect."
